KTRB tuning house.

At the base of each of the 3 antennas a tuning network matched the input from the transmitter to each antenna. The antennas were made of welded pieces of well drilling pipe from the oil fields of Bakersfield. Ever wonder how these cylinderical antennas could be climbed to paint or change lights? A cable attached to a pulley at the top of each antenna enabled a small seat to be attached to the cable at the base of each tower and the worker to be hoisted up the tower. Note, the blue arrow shows the cable rapped around the tower when not in use.
